PhaasI downloaded the StageTool's plugin and it seems to work good. I have never used it before and it was only an evaluation version, but what I keyframed in the program carried over into Lightworks.Just drop the Premiere plugin (I used the old one) from their site into 'Public DocumentsLightworksPlug-Ins' while Lightworks is closed and then open it. MovingPicture will show up in the 'Video: Plug-Ins' category.

From there, add it like any other effect and you should be in business.Good luck!

MovingPicture is a very nice tool for adding motion in stills/photos.Right now I am working on a sequence with only photos in it. So I have downloaded the trial version because it looks like it is easier and faster dan Avids Pan and Zoom tool. But when I render the effect within a progressive project, the result is not progressive!

I can see it interlaced in de record monitor: it gives distored horizontal lines and in my external client monitor it is flickering when I pauze in a motion.I have contact StageTools for this issue, he they said it should be progressive when working in a progressive project and interlaced in a interlaced project.Anyone a solution? If you are in Green Yellow mode you only get 1 field sent to your monitors.I find P&Z faster than Moving pictures. To achieve this I save a P&Z effect that is pre setup in Target mode with my standard velocity settings, render progressive etc to a bin. I can then select all my stills and apply the template P&Z effect to all of them by double clicking my saved effect. All the stills on my timeline are low res imports of the stills I want so each clip in the timeline has the correct reference graphics name on it.For visual reference I copy my entire stills timeline (without the P&Z effect) onto a top empty video layer. Hi, we've just come across this issue on Symphony, and came across this post in MC forum, has anyone had any experiences with this on V3+ or know where there's a clip by clip render setting as per our e-mail correspondance with the developer below? Bill at Stagetools has been great at getting back to us but seems a bit vague on the setting he's referring to.Me:'We've just purchased MovingPicture but are having an issue in that it always seems torender interlaced even in a progressive Avid project.

We came across something on theAvid forums from late 2007 suggesting that you knew of this issue and had a new betaversion??? Any info you have would be useful.

We're onlining on a Symphony NitrisV3.5.9 in a 1080 25p project. Let me know if there's any more info you need.' Bill at Stagetools:'Avid can now set the field mode on a per-clip basis, so check that setting on the Avidand make sure it's set to progressive.' Me:'Thanks for your reply. I guess you're alluding to the fact that since version 3? Youcan mix interlaced and progressive on one timeline. Does this meant that MovingPicturelooks at the resolution (i/p) of the placeholder clip rather than the project settingswhen deciding whether to render progressive or interlaced?

If I've misunderstood youperhaps you could clarify where the clip by clip setting you refer to resides?' Bill at Stagetools:'Yes.

Someshere you can set the interlace on a clip by clip basis.I would assume avid takes a cue from the placeholder and project for the default, but Idon't really know.' Any thoughts appreciatedregardsBrian.

Also, look at your media creation settings. If the Render tab is set to an interlaced resolution, I suppose that could trigger different results. Not in front of the machine just now, but I don't think the media creation settings affect the interlace/progressive issue - they merely force rendering / capture / import, etc to the preferred codec e.g. 120 MXF / 185 MXF / 185X MXF, etc.The 'format' tab allows one to switch the fundamental project format between 1080i and 1080p, etc.Brian is also querying the assertion by the StageTools developer that it is possible to switch 'on a clip by clip' basis between interlaced and progressive rendering. I am unaware of any such facility, apart from flipping the format tab to interlaced or progressive.Regards,Ian. This is a new one to v4.0 it seems. Its not in my MC 3.5.4 system. Here's a short extract from the Help file description:The Field Motion bin column contains information about the frame layout of a clip or subclip. It indicates whether the clip is interlaced or progressive, or whether it contains 2:3 pulldown or repeated (strobe) frames.

Your Avid editing application uses the Field Motion attribute to set the default Source parameter value for the Motion Adapter effect.' This is all related to the new mixed frame rate / field motion types features in v4.0. Thanks Mark, that's what I thought and doesn't help us as we're on 3.5.9 and not really wanting to upgrade at the moment unless there's a guarantee that it would solve this problem. For example can you modify a clip's field motion setting?

You can change the Field Motion value for a clip after its been imported/created, however I don't think this will actually help you. I've just done some tests to see how this works in MC 4.0.3 (on a MAC) with the trial version of Stagetools Moving Picture plugin (STMP).I found exactly what you found.

In a 1080 25p project the render is interlaced. It makes no difference what you change the Field Motion of the placeholder clip to and it comes in as Progressive anyway. Since its just a placeholder, I can't see how its determining the render type anyway - so that seems like a mute point for your problem. And as you found, in a 1080 24p project the render was correct and progressive. I even tried importing the placeholder clip into the 24p project first and then using it in the 25p project (which v4.0.3 allows), but this made no difference to the render. Its clear there is some issue in the way STMP is reading the project type when in 1080 25p, or as they say, this could be an Avid issue in the way it requests frames from the plugin. An email to Marianna with full details would be well worth it as it sounds like this is integral to your workflow and I'm sure hudreds of other Avid doc editors.
